On with the show! Come to Folsom on Tuesday, 2/18, at 6 p.m. to see our 3rd and 4th grade perform "A Mixed-up Fairytale." In the play, a windstorm blows the pages of the Grimm Brothers' famous stories everywhere, and suddenly the characters aren't in the usual castles and cottages. And at Folsom, not even a snowstorm can stop these young actors! They held a tech and dress rehearsal on Monday, and they're excited to show you all they've learned.

Folsom School is closed today, Monday, Feb. 17. Enjoy this incredible snow, and we'll see you Tuesday.

The pasta is almost ready; the dining room is decorated and ready to go. Come on down to Folsom tonight (2/15) for our Pasta Dinner. The dinner is from 5 to 7 p.m. and is by donation. All proceeds will benefit our playground. We hope to see you there!

With the closure of school today, Thursday, Feb. 13, due to the weather, all activities are canceled, including our Ski/Ride Trip. We know this is disappointing; however, safety is our first priority for your children. We have two rescheduled dates for the Ski/Ride Trip: Monday, March 10, and Wednesday, March 19. Ms. Cantell and Mr. Hammond will be in touch with more details.

Because the ski trip is canceled for Wednesday (2/5), we are able to offer a late bus and some of the usual after-school clubs. These clubs will be meeting on Wednesday after school:
1-2 Book Club
3-8 AV Club
5-8 Craft Club
(Walking Club and D&D Club are still canceled).
If your student is enrolled in Book Club, AV Club or Craft Club, they are welcome to stay after on Wednesday.

Folsom Families,
I regret to let you know we need to cancel the Winter Adventure / Ski & Snowboard Trip for middle school and our 1st-4th grade scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 5. Once again, the weather is not our friend. The "feels like" temperature is forecast to be below our required 9 degrees or higher.
We delayed the notification, hoping the forecast would change. It was harder to call this time with fresh snow and sun. But we have to follow our guidelines for the safety of our young skiers and snowboarders.
It might be helpful for you to know that Smugglers Notch requires us to pick dates for our trip months before we go. They are not able to offer the flexibility of changing our date once we know the forecast. Believe me, we would be more flexible on our end if they could take us.
As it stands, our Winter Trip leaders are working to reschedule with Smugglers Notch so we don't have a loss of days.
Thank you for your understanding! We often say "think snow," and I will add "think warmth!"
Julie

The Ski & Snowboard Trip scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 30, is canceled due to the forecasted sub-zero temperatures at Smugglers Notch. We are not allowed to have students outside for outdoor activities when the "feels like" temperature is 9 degrees or below per the VPA. We've been watching the forecast for more than a week; unfortunately, this cold weather continues to persist.
We will try to reschedule with Smugglers Notch; their ability to do so depends upon the ski resort's availability.
The next scheduled ski date, Feb. 5.
