Announcements for the week of
May5-9, 2025
Students are being asked to use their planners in ELA this trimester. We are encouraging them to use this tool not only at school but also at home as a way to build strong organizational habits. Help support your child’s executive functioning skills by checking their planner with them at home!

Message for 8th grade parents…
Dear Parents,
It is that time! Time to create your 8th grade parent dedications. This is a space in the yearbook (⅓ of a page) where you have the opportunity to create a special dedication for your child. Traditionally, these have been a message and collage of pictures, but ultimately it is your decision. Here are some things to keep in mind.
Dedications are prepared by parents. You choose and arrange the pictures with/without message and send the final product to me (tcouture@gisu.org). You could do a powerpoint slide or use an app like pic-collage. Please do not send pictures and messages separately for yearbook staff to put together. I am happy to help if you need it. I also have many samples from the past I could share with you to get you started.
It is one-third of a page so even though it may be tempting to put in A LOT of pictures if you have too many, the pictures are tiny and may be hard to see in the final product.
Dedications are due May 9th.
There is no cost
Separate page: Please send a baby picture (separately) as well for the “guess that 8th grade baby page”
Please feel free to reach out with questions.
Tara Couture
Community service for 8th graders: Just a friendly reminder that all 8th graders must complete 10 hours of community service to graduate from Folsom school! Most are finished already, but a number of students have hours of volunteering to go. Reach out to Mr. Nolan with any questions. TNolan@gisu.org
